Typically, the person performing gokkun drinks the semen from a container, such as a cup, wine glass, or spoon.
While gokkun sometimes refers to a person drinking the semen of one man, the act typically involves multiple ejaculators. For example, there are pornographic films in which a person drinks the semen of as many as 200 people.
Gokkun involves the ingestion of sexual fluids, so it does carry some risk.
Some sexually transmitted infections can be transmitted by drinking semen.
The risks of contracting these diseases are increased if the person drinking the semen has gingivitis or open mouth sores. Some people also have an allergy to the proteins found in semen, known as seminal plasma hypersensitivity, although this is very rare. These people should refrain from performing gokkun.
